Strong Odours

If you have lived in your property in Bulgaria for a long time, you might be completely used to the smell. However, someone walking in for the first time might crinkle their nose at the aroma of cigarette smoke or pets. If you can’t smell anything yourself, ask a friend with a sensitive nose to take a sniff and let you know the truth. If your house is smelly, don’t just try to cover it up with perfume. You need to actually get rid of the odours by having your carpets cleaned and your upholstery shampooed. 

Cats and Dogs

Although you might love Fluffy, some people feel uncomfortable around animals or are allergic to them. Having a dog that runs up to greet your open house guests might make them feel very intimidated and unhappy while looking around your real estate in Bulgaria. You can’t just put them in a bedroom during the showing, because the home buyer will not be able to inspect that room of the house. The best solution is to leave them at a friend’s house or inside a crate during the house showing.

Scrub your bathroom until it shines, and make sure that there is no mildew around the bathtub or shower. If you must invest in a new coat of paint or some rugs and towels, the visual impact will be worth it. 

Dimly Lit Rooms

A property in Bulgaria that is dark will not be appealing to many home buyers. To brighten up your home, you can replace lighting fixtures, install more lights, and even add in a skylight. Be sure to clean your windows well so that any dust and grime is not blocking the light from coming in. If you want to repaint some rooms in a lighter colour, this will reflect more light into the house and make the rooms appear brighter. Another trick is to remove heavy window coverings and replace them with lighter ones that let the sun shine in.
